The YECA Neighbor Award for Climate Stewardship recognizes the actions of young Christians across the country who are dedicated to the faithful stewardship of the earth and care for its inhabitants. The actions of Neighbor Award winners reflect the message of Romans 13:8-10 which states, “Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”
Climate change is already impacting our neighbors and God’s creation here in the United States and around the world. For the sake of “the least of these,” we believe God is calling us to faithful action and witness in the midst of the current climate crisis. Neighbor Award winners have demonstrated their accountability for our neighbors by fighting the negative impacts of climate change and working towards a future in which all of God’s creation is cared for and lovingly sustained.
