Melody first got engaged with YECA as a Project Fellow, where she helped to organize conversations on earth stewardship and led various sustainability projects at her church. She recently graduated with a dual degree in Philosophy and Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan, and is passionate about the space where design, health, and the environment interact as a matter of justice and love for place and people. Upon graduation, she traveled and volunteered in Rome, Zurich, and Copenhagen and conducted an independent study in people-centered urban design.
As a student at U-M, she has served as the Communications Director for Food Recovery Network, a volunteer coordinator for Detroit Partnership, and a graphic design artist for Graham Sustainability Institute. She was also very involved in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, serving on the leadership team and hospitality team. She is currently stationed in Ann Arbor and is looking forward to an upcoming internship in the Netherlands as an urban design assistant. In her free time, Melody loves to read, do yoga, and go on adventures with friends.
